Non sequiturs

You like keeping to yourself. I keep my ear to the ground, become a lip-reader when needed. Any time I feel invited to intrude in your theatrical flings, that is.

And so we made eye contact for the umpteenth time and telepathically set the date for the jump. Come the day, I don't show up and you don't even mention it the next day. Who the hell is flying this plane, anyway?

But then again, how can I know that you did go? Maybe we are, after all, one mind and none of us was sitting on that bench last Saturday.

You can argue and throw at me that my inactions may be construed as devious. Such a pretty thesaurus you are too.

Deviant, I am, nonetheless. I'll give you that. And, frankly, I'd give you more if you'd just ask. So ask me. You know I can't think for myself. My head is full and filled with empty facts and useless guesses. I could tell you balsa wood is lighter than cork and blood runs thicker than water. Bullshit will continue to run thicker still anyhow. And it's not like I can't wait to carry water for you now that you're pretending you never told me to do such a thing.

Still you sink to my level and look the other way. You don't answer me, so I have to assume I'm the bad guy in all this. Alright then, you're the angel, I stood you up. No need to ask.

Carry the water I will.

Oddballs&eyeballs

Scribbles. Just scribbles on a blank paper after you're gone. Because all that there's left after you're gone is your presence-only it's just the shade of it. So powerful in my mind that it even scares me.
Did you ever notice me? This question I throw in the wind, that is only a mere little breeze after you're gone. You and your elbows. Your squares and circles, and the terrific sculptures you made with them.
This kind of thing happens only every few decades. My suggestion was going to be that we took advantage, but the future is now the past tense and the futility of something that was never to happen. Even the brown-coloured eyeballs that pierced me from that ragged crimson sofa knew it. Even the cleverness in me knew it. So why all these records now? I am completely sure you're not, by any means, asking yourself the same questions. There's nothing to blame you for, as there is nothing that ever existed in the first place.
The only remains are these terrific scribbles that you've left on all of my papers.
I am your only scribe, and you have been the code that I must understand. Because otherwise this blindness is gonna eat me, and I don't wanna surrender like that.
Among all the other things that you've left, you've left me with the cruel doubt whether this was fair or not. And to be honest, it is not the question I'm fearing, but the crystal-clear answer that comes with it.
That is something rude to do. To leave people and questions behind you just like that, as if none of the two had ever happened.
This play only exists in my head, I tell myself, therefore the only thing that can be done is to let it go as it came and be happy to remember it. To remember your eyeballs and the piercing that came with them.

Did I wake you?

- No, no, I was up.

No pregunto nada.

No te habré ignorado, no me habrás engañado.

No me crees, ¿verdad?

Y tú, ¿qué has venido a hacer a mi oscuridad?

"Desnudarme", me dices.

Quizá no quiera saberlo.

Wet summer dream

"Oh GOD, God almighty, please..."-whispered Juliet in an almost inaudible voice-"Please, Maggie, take off your shirt".

Maggie wouldn't. She was so extremely into looking at her own reflection in the waters of the lake that she almost forgot her best friend Juliet was with her. A good girl, this Juliet baby, she was actually proud of having her as a friend. She just thought it was a shame that the rest of the gang hadn't been able to join them in such a super fantastic summer trip to the lake. Oh well, maybe some other time.

Juliet baby loved the summer. It was, by far, the best time of the year for her. She got to run through the golden American fields all on her own, with total freedom. She got to drink tons of blueberry juice without any adult telling her when she should stop, and therefore being a pain. She got to go to the movies each night with any of her school friends, because they were all on holidays already. But, above all, there was one thing that Juliet, Juliet baby, loved more than anything else:

gettin' to see Maggie's wet magnificent nipples comin' out of the lake

Ohhhh, yeah boy, that was the one thing she definitely loved the most.

-Osti, nena, quina fragilitat...

-If you only, ever knew -Respondió la aludida taza.

Hay que tener cuidado, pero tampoco pasarse.

Round goblets of arrogance

Iah and Jhrea were found as newborn babies in a garbage disposal container, their tiny bodies next to one another. Fast asleep, their little fragile heads pressed together. Everybody would assume someone left them there. But Iah and Jhrea weren't abandonded. They were born in that garbage container. They were born from the garbage.

Now, this might be a little hard to believe. With no proof. But the fact is most trash container abandoned babies usually still have their umbilical cords attached and more often than not suffer from hypothermia, pretty much always needing to be hospitalized for some time. As for Iah and Jhrea's case, not only were they in perfect health -for they were, after all, still resting in their peculiar womb-, but also conspicuously appeared to never have had any umbilical cord attached to their abdomen in the first place, as they didn't have the slightless hint of a navel.

No birthing scars had Iah and Jhrea. This would appear to be an inconvinience from the start, as navels serve as a way of telling identical twins apart in the absence of identifiable marks. Which was the case of these navel-less girls. Although they were no twins, for they weren't really sisters to begin with. But as they were, after all, born from the same pile of waste, their resemblance was unmistakably uncanny. Much so being them newborns.

Life circumstances and distinguishing difficulties caused them to be separated. And separated they grew up beautifully. Separated, but equally clumsy.

Terribly clumsy. As clumsy as only Gods on Earth can be. Gods, you see, have no navels. They're born only from the divine, with no nutrient tube whatsoever. And so, having no center marked in their physical bodies, they can't get a firm enough grip to the ground. And so they tend to fly off a bit, along with their minds.

In her early twenties, Jhrea gave in to social pressure and had an umbilicus surgically carved right in her exact center of gravity, thus making it fairly impossible for Iah to recognize Jhrea as her other half. Making it up to herself to either see in Iah the part that had been always missing from her, or to completely turn her back on who she was, what she wanted and needed. Conceal her birthing lack of belly button was all she needed to do.

As if.
